Mumtaz headed to Liverpool to start her training at the end of April. She was based at Sefton Hospital and afterwards had accommodation at the TSR (Trained Staff Residence) near the new teaching hospital. It was an eighteen month course which she completed to obtain her SRM (State Registered Midwife).
